The Yamaha R125 which is available in the overseas market has been loaded with a 124.66cc displacement, liquid cooled, SOHC, single cylinder power plant. The fuel injected machine incorporates six-speed gearbox. In view to achieve greater performance and rigidity, it is equipped with a Deltabox chassis, aluminium swing arm and five-spoke lightweight alloy wheels. The Yamaha YZF R125 possesses somewhat the same body style and stance as higher R-series bikes like Yamaha YZF R6 and iconic Yamaha YZF R1. The KTM Duke 125 is expected to be powered by a 2-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC valve configuration with a displacement of 124 cc which will deliver 11KW of power.

Estimated price: Rs 60,000
Demak is soon going to start its operation in India and the company is also planning to launch two bikes - Demak DMX R and Demak Cougar. Yamaha BWS

Upcoming bike launches of 2010-11
Expected: Nov 2010

The Yamaha BWs 125 comes loaded with front disc brake and rear drum type brake; it has front telescopic shocker and rear unit link fork. The most fascinating feature is its massive 12-inch wheels. In addition, Yamaha BWs 125 sports a 6-litre fuel tank.

Bajaj-KTM

A long wait is approaching to end as Bajaj-KTM is looking to launch new bike in India in upcoming year.
bajaj-ktm bikesThere have been many rumors regarding the collaborative product but recent official talk about the bikes is that the price-tag of the motorcycle will be over ₹ one lakh. The range of street bikes will feature engines of capacity 125cc and more. The launch is somehow definite in the cities of Europe by the end of this year and the welcome season of 2011 will be the time for India to host some launches from the team. Bikes will be sold through Bajaj Autos Pro-Biking showrooms.
It is news that the first launch from Bajaj-KTM will have a price tag over ₹1, 00,000. But not sure whether that bike will have an engine of 125cc or over 200cc. That shall continue remaining mystery for we people. Hope to see much powerful and superior bikes over those which we have we have already available in the market these days.
Another news from the team is that they are going to launch a series of imported bikes from KTM in Indian market in the upcoming years. This will definitely boost competition with Kawasaki which is looking to launch powered bikes in Indian market. The only similarity between Kawasaki and KTM will be the partner Bajaj Autos, India.
Words From Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Autos
“Whatever product will be out in the market will be at a very significant premium as against brands like the Pulsar. Else, what is the use of bringing such a product?”
I personally wish to see a bike with displacement over 250cc and power more than 20bhp from the Team. And would like to know the expectations from my readers. Please state your views in the comment box below!

Contrary to what people think California Superbike School is not focussed on racing or learning to race. For that they have a seperate race school.
CSS is based on getting you acquainted with what sports riding is all about and they will strive to improve skills which will one day save you on the streets too. Coaches who have trained MotoGP riders will be spearheading your training. That says a lot about how professional this training is.

Hope to see a lot of xBHPians at CSS this time.
Being dead is very boring ! I dont think you would like that ! Wear gear all the time !

apple iphone 4

he iPhone 4 is here and we have all the answers to your questions about Apple's new iPhone including pictures and detailed specifications.
Check out our full Apple iPhone 4 review and our AppleiPhone 4 vs. HTC EVO 4G/Motorola Droid X comparisons.

Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone 4 today, which he claims offers over 100 new features, though he would focus on only a handful for the keynote. The iPhone 4 looks like the iPhone prototype obtained under questionable circumstances by Gizmodo: stainless steel casing, all-glass front, and a design Jobs describes as the thinnest smartphone on the planet: almost 25 percent thinner than the iPhone 3GS.. Unlike previous iPhones, the iPhone 4 will have volume controls on the side of the phone along with an accessible microSIM tray. The iPhone 4 features a front-facing camera, and the back sports a microphone, 30pin connector for docking, and a speaker, while the top sports a second microphone for noise cancellation, sleep/wake button, and a headset input.
Jobs went on to highlight the bands around the side of the iPhone 4 that caused much speculation in the wake of the leaked prototypes. Jobs identified them as part of the phone’s antenna system, saying the stainless steel band is also a primarily structural element of the device. The antenna supports all the iPhone 4’s wireless capability, from 3G to Wi-Fi to Bluetooth to GPS along with cellular communications.

iPhone 4: Retina Display

The iPhone 4 will also sport what Jobs described as a “retina display” with four times the pixel density of a typical LCD display at a whopping 326 pixels per inch—by far denser than anything else in the consumer electronics market. The result is a 3.5-inch display with a native resolution of 960 by 640 pixels that is actually a higher resolution than the typical human eye is capable of perceiving, when held at a distance of just 10 to 12 inches. Jobs claims the iPhone 4’s display winds up looking like a high quality printed book (albeit that emits light!) rather than a blocky pixellated grid. The iPhone OS automatically handles rendering text and controls at the higher resolution for the iPhone 4, so developers don’t need to do anything to update their applications to look good on the new display…but, of course, if developers want to add higher-resolution graphics to their apps, they will look stunning on the iPhone 4.

iPhone 4: A4 Chip and Gyroscope

The iPhone 4 will also feature an Apple-designed A4 CPU, following along the lines of the processor powering the iPad. Jobs said the A4 processor improved power management, so the iPhone 4 will manage 40 percent more talk time on 3G networks (up to 7 hours), or up to 6 hours of 3G Web browsing or 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing. The device can also play up to 10 hours of video, 40 hours of music, and should have an standby time of up to 300 hours. The iPhone 4 will also pack up to 32 GB of onboard flash storage, and will offer quad-band HSDPA/HSUPA for mobile broadband speeds up to 7.2Mbps downstream, 4.8Mbps upstream…assuming carrier networks support that technology. The iPhone 4 will also support 802.11n Wi-Fi, assisted GPS, Bluetooth, and packs and accelerometer, compass, proximity sensor, and an ambient light sensor,. The iPhone 4 also sports a gyroscope, which enables six-axis motion sensing…just like a game controller, and iPhone OS 4 will offer developer APIs to leverage the gyroscope: Jobs envisions the gyroscope enabling whole new types of mobile gaming.

iPhone 4: Camera & iMovie

The iPhone 4 will feature a 5 megapixel camera with a backside-illuminated sensor, which Jobs says increases the amount of light captured by the sensor, resulting in better photographs, particularly in low-light situations. The camera will also record HD video at 720p resolution and 30 frames per second, and the LED flash can be used to light video as well. Like the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4 will feature in-phone video editing and enable users to share video the the Internet (think Facebook and YouTube). However, Apple is pushing the video editing envelope with a new iMovie application for iPhone, that enables users to assemble and trim clips and record directly into an iMovie timeline. Users can also add camera photos to their movies (complete with the pan-and-scan Ken Burns effect), and iMovie for iPhone will enable users to add titles and transitions to their videos. The iPhone 4 camera embeds geolocation information in video; iMovie for iPhone can optional display display that information. Users can also add music as a soundtrack to their video, and select from a number of pre-generated themes. iMovie for iPhone will be available as a separate purchase from the App Store for $4.99.

iPhone 4: Bing

Among new features in iOS 4 will be an option to use Microsoft’s Bing as a default search engine; Google will still be the iPhone’s default search, but Yahoo and Bing-powered searches will be available as options. Note that Bing will be taking over the back end for Yahoo’s search services later this year.

iBooks for iPhone

Apple also announced a version of iBooks will be available for iPhone, with feature parity to the iPad edition (complete with previously-announced PDF and annotations support). The applications will be able to synchronize across devices, so users will be able to start reading an iBook on an iPad, then pick up at the same spot on the iPhone. Users will be able to download purchased books to all their supported devices at no extra charge.

No Longer iPhone OS 4: iOS 4

Since it won’t do to have an iPad running something called “iPhone OS,” Apple has decided to rename its mobile device operating system to simply “iOS 4,” encompassing all its mobile devices: the iPhone, the iPad, and the iPod touch. iOS 4 will have the features Apple outlined back in April, including a form of multitasking support (so applications like Pandora can stream music in the background while an iPhone user, say, surfs the Web in Safari), a unified Mail inbox that supports multiple services, home screen folders, a Game Center, and improved support for Microsoft Exchange and enterprise users. However, developers will probably be more intrigued by a boatload of new APIs and significantly deepened features. Developers at WWDC will be able to set hands on a release candidate today.

iAds

Jobs also took a moment to highlight Apple’s new in-application advertising platform iAds: according to Jobs, Apple is developing iAds as a revenue channel for developers so they can earn money from applications in ways other than direct sales to users. As outlined last April, Apple is aiming for high amounts of interactivity and engagement with iAds, building on HTML5 technologies rather than the still-industry-standard Adobe Flash. Apple will host all the advertising and handle ad sales, so all applications developers have to do is specify where in the applications the ads should be placed, then collect 60 percent of the revenue from placements in their applications. Apple has only been selling iAds for about two months—they should go live Jule 1—and so far has many major brands on board, including Disney (Jobs is Disney’s biggest single shareholder, remember), Target, Best Buy, Geico, DirecTV, and other major brands. Unlike traditional banner ads that eject users from applications out into Web browsers, iAds run without exiting a user’s application, providing an interactive experience without causing people to leave apps, or lose work or messages: the goal is an engaging experience that users know is “safe” regardless of the app they’re using.

Video Calling

Of course, that front-facing camera in the iPhone 4 exists for one and only one purpose: video calls. Jobs demonstrated what Apple is dubbing FaceTime video calling with the iPhone 4. The feature will initially be Wi-Fi only and operate iPhone 4 devices—no word in whether FaceTime will support, say, desktops or notebooks equipped with cameras. Users will be able to switch to the rear-mounted 5 megapixel camera on the iPhone 4 to let callers see what they’re seeing, or stick with the front-facing camera for face-to-face chat. Jobs says Apple plans to work with mobile operators to make FaceTime available over 3G data services. Apple says it plans to ship millions of FaceTime-capable devices this year—and if current iPhone sales are any indicator, they’re right—so iPhone 4 users will have plenty of people to talk to. (How far off is an app called FaceTime Roulette?)
Apple says the technology behind FaceTime will be come an industry standard, and will be supported by other devices and services.

Cast

Nagarjuna, Anushka, Priyamani, Brahmanandam, Pradeep Rawat, Kota Srinivas Rao

Akkineni Nagarjuna stole the limelight when he entered the sets of the film Ragada, with such a mass title, having crossed 50. Coming as the swansong of the year 2010, the film evoked mixed response among the audiences on the lines of his previous films Don and King. Let us see, what the film has to spare for Nag and is it really worth the bucks for the audiences out on the New Year hungama.

Set in the backdrop of the low-rung mafia in Hyderabad, Satya (Nagarjuna), whose whereabouts are maintained a secret, happens to win the confidence of a goon GK (Dev Gill), whose love interest is Sirisha (Sirisha). Coming as an expected twist, Sirisha falls in love with Satya, who in turn encounters another ravishing girl Ashata Lakshmi (Priyamani), after rescuing her from baddies. Like a Telugu movie of the 70s, the hero is caught between two girls. Naturally, the confidence of GK in Satya is shaken, followed by sudden spurt of troubles for the hero from the enemies of Ashta Lakshmi. How Satya cuts through the deal? It forms the rest of the story.

Despite in his 50s, Nagarjuna rocked in several scenes, particularly the romantic ones, apart from giving a wholesome entertainment in stunts and comedy. Tall, luring and tumultuous expressions; Anushka came out with a feast to the eyes of her fans, though she doesn’t really have any prominent role to play from the point of view of characterization.

Priyamani could give a tough fight to her colleague Anushka in terms of glamour and beauty. Brahmanandam as usual makes his presence felt and contributes to the comedy department in a significant manner, but due to lack of punch in the second half, his characterization slowly loses its importance. Heavy presence of baddies Pradeep Rawat, Dev Gill, Supreeth, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Shravan could not bring seriousness to the film.

Showing the villainy factor in the comical light has weakened the entertainment quotient. Charmme’s presence comes as a soother with sensuous appeal. Dharmavarapu and Master Barath have done their part well, ticking the aesthetic sense of the crowds.

The script lacked originality and one would surely feel that though Nag did dynamic acting, this kind of a thing was an oddity to him. Screenplay is clumsy in parts. The first half runs at a brisk pace, with a sudden drop in the second half. Songs are entertaining, coupled with a mass appeal, but at the same time they come as speed breakers.

Music is good in parts. Editing is abrupt at several points. Dialogues are interesting from the start to finish, while at some stretches they are exposed to deliberateness.

The movie might catch the attention of the non-serious audiences, while it has the strength to enthuse the hardcore Nag fans. Its future depends on the ensuing Sankranthi releases.

Verdict: Average

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY VISITORS

YAMAHA FAZER

Yamaha Fazer 150cc motorcycle photo
Yamaha Fazer 150cc motorcycle photo
The Yamaha Fazer, the latest in India Yamaha Motor’s highly successful FZ line-up consisting of the FZ-16 and the FZ-S motorcycles, will be priced at Rs 72,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi.)
Yukimine Tsuji, Yamaha CEO and MD, said, “New Fazer is the latest addition in our portfolio of technologically superior bikes and we hope to provide the latest touring experience.”
Let us take a moment to remember that this is not some super racing motorcycle. Sure, the looks are superb by Indian standards. Probably even more dynamic lookswise than the FZ-16. Quality too is in a class of its own. However, in pure horsepower stakes, there are other motorcycles, including the Hero Honda Karizma, that can beat the Fazer 150 hands down.
He said that the company had announced its investments plans during Auto Expo 2008, and had promised to give India the feel of high technology and real Yamaha.
Tsuji added, “Today the investment comes alive in the form of this internationally benchmarked modern manufacturing facility.”
“New Fazer is the latest addition in our portfolio of technologically superior bikes including YZF-R15, FZ-16 and FZ-S” which exhibit Yamaha’s global ingredients – Performance, Innovation & Design and are the Best Products currently in the market to fulfill the aspirations of Indian biking enthusiasts,” he added.
The sporty Yahama Fazer motorcycle will be available in four colors: Electric Blue, Midnight Black, Lava Red, and Flaming Orange.
Based on the FZ-16 platform, the Yamaha Fazer motorcycle is 1,975mm in length,770mm in width, and 1,045mm in hieght.
The Yamaha Fazer motorcycle is powered by a 153cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve single cylinder engine that develops 14PS of maximum output at 7500rpm and maximum torque of 14Nm at 6500rpm.
The Yamaha Fazer motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1,335mm, and has a minimum ground clearance of 160mm.
The 150cc Yamaha Fazer motorcycle gets fatter 140/60 rear tyres with 17? alloy wheels.
The Yamaha Fazer motorcycle will be rolled out from Yahama Motor India’s new facility at Surajpur, Uttar Pradesh.
India Yahama Motor has had a fair deal of success in the Indian market. In June 2009, India Yamaha Motor rung up sales of 17,878 units, an 84 per cent increase compared to the 9,699 units it sold in June 2008.
Meanwhile, India Yahama Motor also plans to launch exclusive racing kits in India, in collaboration with racing equipment maket Daytona, for Yamaha’s YZF-R15 and FZ series models.
The motorcycle racing kits would have adjustable back steps, high-lift cams, full exhaust system, and braking parts like big diameter petal disc brakes, master cylinder, and stainless steel hose, and would be available in India from September 2009, the company has said.

MAHINDRA MOJO

While Mahindra’s official website continues to show us ‘Coming Soon’ greeting message I thought of taking a second review at Mahindra’s latest offering, 300cc MOJO which seems to be based on Malaguti MR250.

Whatever you will read in the forthcoming lines please note that I HAVE NOT considered the Royal Enfield’s, liter classes and CBUs/CKDs and anything over 2 lakh rupees in India.
HISTORY: If we peep back a few years when 2 strokers gave way to more efficient 4 strokers, new manufacturers kept coming and offering those volume selling 100 odd cc bikes. Let’s chuck Indian manufacturers for the time being and talk about the more experienced, more powerful Japanese.
To start with, Yamaha, the makers of legendary RD and RX series of bikes were dumbstruck with 100cc Cruxs and Liberos till a change of guard took place at the top level and we witnessed some fine machinery in the form of technically supreme R15 and ravishing looker FZ. The R15 did set some benchmarks of its own and it still continues to be an untouched avenue for its competitors.

But moving away from Yamaha, Honda, the ‘always safe playing shrewd company’ started with 150cc giving us bright hopes that very soon we would be able to see some of the fine machinery they are famous for in the foreign world; but sadly the cc ladder in place of moving up has descended to 100ccs! In fact, with an existing collaboration with the volume churning, entry segment concentrated Hero Honda, already selling like crazy, almost everyone expected Honda to travel the way up as they might not want to advent to a region they are already present in. Another whizz, Suzuki has also kept itself limited to 150ccs. Simply because it is a huge risk involved in case the whole concept of bringing in a BIG bike fails, foreign manufacturers have always desisted themselves from offering what the biking aficionados always wanted.

To the contrary, Indian manufacturers took the lead and offered some fantastic products. The max which we have in India currently in single cylinder form is the 220cc 21PS Pulsar 220 from Bajaj Auto which incidentally is the Quickest and Fastest straight line production bike in the country today. It was Bajaj which broke the 20PS jinx which we were struck to for many years together. And here we have another Indian company coming in and pitching a product which I am sure would have set pulses racing for every performance biking enthusiast, Mahindra, the company and MOJO the product!
Mahindra which has set true benchmarks in the 4-wheeler UV (Utility Vehicles) segment, acquired the ailing Kinetic Motors and forayed into the World’s second largest 2 wheeler market. We have already seen the 250cc marvels in the form of limited-edition Kinetic Aquila and Comet which were brought in by the collaborator Hyosung in limited numbers as CBU’s.

MOJO – The Product

I always expected Mahindra to come up with new 100/125/150cc offerings as all the other companies do. But Mahindra did not want to be called as ‘just other’ company. They were courageous to even think on those lines and had those guts which propelled them to start proceedings with a product which is not set to add any significant numbers to the sales tally.
Taking a closer look at MOJO brings in a lot many questions in my mind, which I am sure, would settle down with time. Let me pen down a few glaring features of the bike first.

BMW-X1

The new formula for joy.

The exterior of the BMW X1.

Agility + Elegance = Joy. The new BMW X1 formula. At first glance a compact X model, on second glance the challenge of getting to know something new. It starts with the design: rising lateral lines lend the new BMW X1 a dynamic shape, while short overhangs and a sloping rear windscreen create a sporty, elegant silhouette. At the front, the distinctively shaped bonnet and the three-eye look of the headlights make for a striking impact, while the L-shaped taillights in conjunction with the horizontal flow of lines visually broaden the rear. All told, the design of the BMW X1 has a very simple message: it is joy in material form.
